Terms of Use

Last updated 21 September 2026

1. Acceptance

By using the EMS Ventilator Simulator you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the app.

2. What this app is

The simulator is an educational and training tool for practicing invasive and non-invasive ventilation. It is intended for healthcare professionals, students and trainees.

Its purpose is training and familiarization. It exists to help you recognize the panel layout, terminology and controls of the transport ventilators it depicts, and to practice ventilator management in a safe, repeatable environment where mistakes carry no risk to a patient.

All patients, vital signs, scenarios and clinical outcomes in the app are simulated. They are teaching examples and do not describe any real person.

The app is a study aid. It is not a substitute for hands-on training on the real equipment, for your service's own competency program, or for the manufacturer's operator manual.

3. Accuracy, limitations and how this app was made

The simulated ventilators in this app are not exact replicas of the real devices. They are simplified training representations: the panel layouts, labeling and control behavior are approximations created for teaching purposes, and the underlying respiratory model is a deliberate simplification of real physiology.

As a result, the app may contain errors. A simulated ventilator may respond to a setting differently from the real unit, waveform and alarm behavior may not match exactly, and the clinical content and scenarios may be simplified or illustrative rather than strictly evidence-based in every detail.

This app was designed and built with the assistance of artificial intelligence. Its content and behavior have been manually reviewed for correctness, but that review is not exhaustive and oversights may remain.

For these reasons the app should be used to support training and familiarization, never to replace them. Always verify settings, terminology, values and technique against the current manufacturer's documentation for the device you actually use, your local clinical guidelines and your service's own protocols.

If you find something that looks incorrect, please report it to josephdsilver44@gmail.com. Reports are genuinely useful and help improve the tool for everyone.

4. Educational use only — not for patient care

This app is not a medical device and has not been reviewed, cleared or approved by any medical device regulator, including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

It does not provide medical advice and must not be used to diagnose, treat, monitor or make decisions about the care of any real patient. Always follow your local clinical guidelines, your employer's protocols and the instructions supplied with the actual equipment you use.

The simulated physiology is a deliberate simplification. Real patients do not behave exactly as the model does.

5. No warranty

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that it is free of inaccuracies or omissions, or that any simulated result is accurate or clinically valid.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss, injury or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, this app or its content. You use it at your own risk and remain solely responsible for your own clinical practice.

7. Trademarks, device names and non-affiliation

Ventilator names, model designations and manufacturer names shown in this app — including ReVel, CareFusion, ZOLL and Hamilton Medical — are the trademarks of their respective owners.

They are used for identification and educational purposes only, to help you recognize the layout of the controls you may encounter in practice.

This app is an independent training tool. It is not produced by, endorsed by, affiliated with, sponsored by or approved by any of these manufacturers, and no such connection is claimed or implied.

No copyright, design right or trademark claim is made to the ventilators themselves, to their control layouts, labeling or software, or to any manufacturer's documentation. Nothing in this app should be read as a statement or claim about the real devices, their performance, their features or their safety. For any question about an actual device, refer to its manufacturer.

8. Copyright and intellectual property

© 2026 Joseph D. Silver. All rights reserved.

The copyright claimed here covers the app's own design and idea: its interface layout and visual treatment, the way the controls, waveforms and monitoring are brought together, the simulation engine, and the scenarios and case library written for it.

It does not cover — and no claim of any kind is made to — the clinical education itself. The ventilator strategies, terminology and clinical teaching in this app are drawn from published, publicly available critical care and prehospital sources, including LITFL's Critical Care Compendium, EMCrit's Internet Book of Critical Care, the Joint Trauma System clinical practice guidelines, the TCCC guidelines, NAEMSP position statements and the AHA guidelines. Those works belong to their respective authors and publishers; they are cited within the app and used here for teaching. Where a source is named, all rights in that source remain with it.

Nor is any copyright or trademark claim made to the ventilators depicted or to their manufacturers. ReVel and CareFusion, ZOLL and Hamilton Medical are the trademarks of their respective owners, used for identification and education only.

You may use the app freely for personal study and for teaching. You may not copy, resell, republish or redistribute the app's own design, interface, engine or case library, or present them as your own, without permission. Reusing clinical material that originates from the sources cited above is a matter between you and those sources.

9. Changes

The app and these terms may be updated at any time. The revised terms take effect when they are published on this page, with a new date at the top.

10. Questions

If you have a question about these terms, or about the copyright and trademark position set out above, please email josephdsilver44@gmail.com.
